The Technical Art Awards celebrates the technical artists who bridge the gap between art and engineering. These are the shader wizards, rigging engineers, VFX artists, pipeline TDs, procedural artists, and technical art directors who make the impossible possible.
Technical art is often invisible — it's the seamless character animation, the shader that catches the light just right, the tool that saves a team hundreds of hours. We believe this work deserves recognition. That's why we created the Technical Art Awards: to shine a spotlight on the people and the craft behind the magic.
Exceptional shader authoring, node-based material workflows, and custom rendering solutions. From HLSL/GLSL to Shader Graph and Material Editor — recognizing those who push pixels to their limits.
Innovative control rigs, procedural rigging solutions, blend shape systems, and runtime character tech. The engineers who bring characters to life.
Outstanding particle systems, Niagara/Cascade effects, GPU simulations, and performant visual effects. Making the spectacular run at 60fps.
Custom tools, editor extensions, asset pipelines, automation scripts, and workflow-enhancing utilities. The people who make everyone else faster.
Procedural generation, Houdini integrations, PCG workflows, and algorithmic content creation. Letting math and rules build worlds.
Visionary leadership bridging art and engineering. Establishing technical standards, mentoring teams, and setting the visual direction that shapes entire projects.
